Take a closer look, say for example Milwaukee tools, owned now by the Chinese. Snap on tool’s are out of the range of most peoples wallet. is there any other American power tool maker making their shit here and paying good wages? Long ago our government made it too easy to move factories out of the country, Americans fucking over Americans, true capitalism. How about craftsman? Mnuchin’s college roommate sold Sears to front companies for pennies on the dollar. And M is now a billionaire! On closer examination your slogans are based on bullshit.

Augustus, Would you prefer cheaper goods, mass layoffs, poverty AND the trade imbalance? a) Unemployment is hovering around 4%. There are plenty of jobs out there. b) Free trade doesn't cause poverty, but barriers to free trade can thanks to increases in cost of living. c) Trade imbalances work themselves out. Free market works as intended. Unless there is a specific reason, or a certain industry that a country wants to protect for national security reasons, tariffs are often a bad idea. Protectionism always disincentivizes innovation and competition. Tenchusatsu
