Making the US irrelevant also means making the US economy irrelevant and the US dollar irrelevant... and why should anyone follow what the US wants if they are irrelevant? So EU should strike a MASSIVE bilateral deal with China and let EU's own ASML send their cutting edge chip making machines to China.

And US will become that much more IRRELEVANT!!!! They won't be able to ask any country for anything... and inflation will run into the stratoshere...

Did he? I didn't get that implication from his post.

But let's say he did. If so, then he's wrong. The world hasn't yet transitioned to a post-America future.

But the world is working on it. The only question is whether WE would benefit from said future.

I argue that we probably wouldn't, IF we continue down this reckless path toward isolationism.
