I am saying there is a NATO because of education!!

The human species were mostly concrete thinkers until we had mandatory 13 years of education.

That is what it took to get people to think abstractly.

And the brave new world you see today is the direct result of worldwide public education making people smarter.

And as humans got smarter, they were able to figure out things like NATO, the EU, democracy, ethics, and complex social systems based on modern social science.

Steven Pinker in his book "The Nature of our Better Angles" points out this period has less violence than any period in history!!

That is a result of learning how to think. Compassion is a positive result of learning to think better.

PS the human species can increase their IQ's by at least 60 points just by educating themselves )Dr James Flynn). The Flynn effect.

Research showed that in the 1800's the average person was operating at about a 70 IQ. By those standards today the kids are operating at about 130.

Do you not notice legal slavery is Gone all over the world.

All of these advances in civil rights are the result of humans learning to think better, because of public education!!
