What you are overlooking is that there has NEVER, EVER, been anything like NATO in the 12,000 year history of civilization! Just as there was never any democracies until recently. Or civil rights i.e. no legal racism, sexism or homophobia. No slavery. In 12,000 years And the reason was that humans did not understand any of those things until they started educating themselves. Our founding fathers were not farmers, they were the intelligentsia of the day! They knew most of the political theory of the day, and built on that. < <<<<<I am using NATO as an "example" of how education is shaping the world for a better place>>>>> I know what you are saying it just doesn't make any sense! NATO which you suggest is an example of the good that came out of education was created in 1949. It is just completely silly to suggest something created just after the war as suddenly being an example of education. Europe was struggling to find enough to eat in 1949 not get educated.
