It does give us important information for speculation. An educated guess.

One thing you can say, is that it is relevant for that population.

And that says a lot IMO for the reasons I gave.

I don't have a theory about the number of scientists in the U.S. who are Republican. I was just pointing out that the results of the AAAS survey that you referenced are not reliable.
