Biden did it because he knew Assad was supported by Russia. Temporarily, it was a good move for Israel - though Jolani and Turkey will have to be taken out down the road. I say down the road because Israel has destroyed most of the weapons there for the time being. Assad was a butcher and dictator so choosing between Assad and Jolani was just replacing one Fascist over another. Syria won't be a threat to Israel for a while so we can focus on Yemen and Iran. Yes, Christians got screwed in Syria, but I don't expect any big waves yet. As you know, Israel is in Syria territory waiting for a reason to strike Jolani and his Muslim clan.
