Dave,
The abstract really didn't say what was unique about the patent, but perhaps abstracts don't. My only assumption is that this is a VBI method, but it doesn't say. Hopefully someone else has more detail about the patent, because I can't find anything past the abstract.
Regards,
Dave

Dave:
Thanks for the work to dig this up. I am personally not very concerned about this item as it stands. I believe there is a whole collection of components that must be in place to have any of these systems work. If it was merely a VBI coding technique we would have been rich off of WAVO long ago. You need content, broadcasting (as universal as possible), boards in the computers compatible with the encoding, pricing, and timing. In my mind the WAVE configuration stands head and shoulders above the others in terms of being positioned to benefit from this. We also don't need al the food on the table to fill out plate. Much of this is still shrouded in enough mystery to make us all nervous. This year it will unfold and we will all benefit if we sit tight. The swell is forming at sea. The Wave is coming.
