"...would such actually add anything to MAGA?" Not really, but it would be a nice distraction, and politics is all about distractions. The U.S. government would secure a nice water, oil and gas supply, plus the world's largest known reserves of uranium. There would be a few pockets of resistance in Toronto and Vancouver, but one cold winter without power would turn that around without a shot being fired.
