[ 8-10 ] Carol. By just looking at the Charts and no FA ... the one's that catch my eye are ... CKC .. I noticed it's on the F&Slo DRS DSPT ... MEDS MYR SBEI ... SBIO ULTR But, I'm not thrilled over these. I'll just watch em. XOMA looks interesting. Ray

[ Carol, TGEN chat ] Not really "favored". I don't like viral vectors for gene therapy, but the company has taken a new track and is looking at lipid-mediated gene transfer. The recent restructuring and layoff of personnel involved in early-stage projects also has to be demoralizing. I don't follow them closely enough to comment on their capacity to turn things around. When I saw them in a "sto" list, I just thought that I'd include them in companies that I mentioned to Ray; their science has always been respected, even if the clinical and business vision has fallen a bit short of ideal. That's a long way of saying.... sorry, I'm clueless. The performance of some of our recent selections last week..... Fidelity Select Biotechno 34.36 39.98 28.32 +0.4% Franklin Global Health Ca 19.11 22.80 15.64 -0.0% AMEX Biotechnology Index. 163.05 -2.7% Dow Jones 30 Industrials. 8,413.94 +0.5% and an honorable mention, a John Metcalf pick recently culled from Ray's lists.... Akorn Inc................ 5 3/16 4 15/16 1 57/64 86 +25.7% BTW.... I expected about 40% from MOGN (MGI Pharma) on last week's news. I am a happy camper, but my greedy side is left wanting. ;-) Back tomorrow to update lists 1 and 2 and to at 2/18, 2/19 and 2/20 screens. Cheers! Rick
