What are you talking about? The Viking era ended over a 1,000 years ago, and I was talking about 1776. Those are not the same. There is a difference in doing something not knowing it is wrong, and doing something knowing it is wrong. The Vikings had no understanding slavery was wrong at all, but our founding fathers did! Will Durant spent his life writing the history of civilization. He was one of the most knowledgeable people that ever lived! You have picked the wrong mentors. I spent many years in the university environment and never heard Sowell's ideas presented. And his juxtapositioning the Vikings slavery with our own is why academia does not take him seriously. He is a conservative apologist. And what I have read of him, looks intellectually strained, like all conservative philosophy i.e. it makes no sense. For example, I can give you a detailed outline of the liberal philosophy that comports with science. You cannot do the same with conservative philosophy.
