Modern vehicles, often described as “computers on wheels,” routinely gather sensitive information, including location history, call logs, contacts, and text messages through cell phone syncing. It's not just Tesla collecting data from your vehicle, although they're at the forefront of implementing that. Practically all new vehicles sold in the US listen to you, record you with cameras and monitor your driving habits. Actually, you don't even drive them any more, either. What used to be your gas pedals, brake pedals and steering wheels were directly connected to their intended function. No more. They're now connected to your car's computer (drive by wire) which actually drives, steers and brakes the vehicle. Your car is not just monitored and computer controlled, but in many instances it can be shut down or disabled remotely. Again, it's not just Teslas. The last new car I bought was a 2002 model and I'll stay with old classic cars in the future for as long as I'll be driving..
