> FWIW, the data is from Chinese govt data. Apple makes up basically all of foreign handset sales in China.

I always take all data from China with a very large grain of salt. Those shady reports are released from various outlets before every AAPL earnings report. Many articles are hit pieces paid for by competitors. As for China, I don't trust anything the PRC releases for data, EVER.

If you don't think China games their data to game the U.S. stock market, well... they do. They pull Mr. Market's wrist rubber band back as much as they can to profit from shorting it, then profit from buying AAPL at its lowest with call options to profit on the slingshot ahead.

Just two weeks ago all the talking heads on CNBC were saying we're likely entering an iPhone supercycle with the slow rollout of AI for iOS 18 and the iPhone 15/16 Pro and Max models. Only those phones have the A17 Pro and A18 Pro Apple Intelligence (AI) processors in them, respectively.

Good luck with your investments, you can profit from those fluctuations before and after earnings too.

We shall see after the bell on at the end of the month on Thursday 1/30 after the bell, according to the Yahoo app.
