... having sampled and sweared to never ever again partake in Impossible foods, I am guessing that the collective west (CW) is shy and dancing around the kernel of the core at the centre of the issue as we vortex into and soon-enough through 2026 / 2032 / 2042, that being 'Class Struggle'

Under ubiquitous conditions of Class Struggle, some folks shall buy inflation-adjusted natural food, organic, free range, etc etc, and others can stuff down the yummy yummy that be farm-free, in such a way, core inflation, that being everything less food and energy can do whatever, even as food of the natural sort can go up triple digits percentage, hedonically adjusted

let us see if the masses fall for such subterfuge

In the meantime, holiday season over and in two weeks another holiday season upon the disciples of lunar new year, the two weeks between here and there gets busy

Disgusting!

Who needs real food? Everyone!

--------------------------------------

No, humans do not need fake food:

  • Nutritional needs
The body needs nutrients from food to survive, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Fake food can have nutritional characteristics that can lead to deficiencies and disease. For example, fake food can be low in fiber, micronutrients, and omega-3 fatty acids, and high in trans-fats, branched-chain amino acids, and emulsifiers.

Using fields of grass to feed cattle to make steak and milk seems like an inefficient process, with swarms of insects, storms, diseases what-not making it hard work.

In the good old days, one could simply grab a buffalo and hey presto, the natural world produced a tribe's food for a week. Or cast a few nets or drop a few lines to feast on fish.

Wild corn was not much use. Now a huge harvester can collect millions of succulent cobs in a day, and a tractor can plant millions too. Kiwifruit by the thousand tons are easily grown. Bananas too.

One would think the green off-cuts could be fed to bacteria/fungi/microbes, with photovoltaics for processing energy, A bit of time and growing later the amino acid brew would turn into DNA generated steak. Easy to write, but obviously harder to do. 90% of a cattle is not wanted - bone, bits and pieces.
