To add to my prior post, in the senario I would be in favor of; Certainly after a time of rebuilding and prosperity, National sovereignty would be returned to the Iraqi people. But by that time, the fruits of democracy and capitalism would be apparent and highly desired by the Iraqi people. Perhaps we could host (in Baghdad) a national constitutional convention for the Iraqi people to debate the framework for the new Iraq. We could slowly withdraw our presence in Iraq, leaving a strong ally in the region, and a great world tourist destination in the making. Iraq has many valuable historic sites, including the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the building of which was chronicled in the Old Testament.

Of course that's all a pipe dream, but a nice dream nonetheless.

>>Why undertake deep water drilling>> The answer also lies in the fact that the oil co's bid on their leases and are required to develop it or lose the rights to it.
