Mo,

I believe that earnings two years out, with Merced having been shipping in volume for six to twelve months, will exceed $10.00 per share (pre split !).

I can't back it up, but I believe that all of the system which today have DEC (Alpha), SGI, HP processors will have high price, high margin Intel Merced processors, with MAJOR inroads underway to replace IBM RS 6000 and Sun Sparc processors, replacements that will be essentially complete 5 years out, but just underway two years out (and, depending on when in 1999 Merced ships, I could be off by a year).

I believe that the day will come, in much less than a decade, when Intel's earnings based on today's shares outstanding, will exceed $20 per share.
