It took me awhile, about a year or so, to finally twig: that was not normal!

In hindsight I often think I am incredibly slow at picking things up.

Yeah... someone, or some organization (more like) did not like Ayn Rand.... and they had influence.

and being the idiots they were, the quietly forbade any UK library to keep copies of Ayn Rand books on the shelves.

Very silly now that I consider it.

It would be far better to let the book be read and critiqued, just like any other well written book.

How hard is it to critique Ayn Rand and her philosophy?

Well, sadly we all pass away, as did Ayn Rand. What did she die of and was the State involved in any way?

Does that mean her books have no value? nfw, she escaped the Soviet system, and was a good observer of it, and a suitable critic.

With today's USA health insurance companies, we will have all USA citizens raging commies in no time at all. Trump should apply a heavy blow to the solar plexus of that festering mess early on. Easy win as a publicity stunt.

Of course he could make it a WWE type event in the media, a whole clown show in fact. Should be entertaining. The serious point is it will be tough to fix. Lots of vested interests and entrenched positions to winkle out. At the end of the day the goal is to have the best Heath system again. Should be a lot easier process once that is understood.

The UK NHS needs a huge review too. It's becoming a favourite cash cow for middlemen of all sorts, "advisors", "experts", and oligarchs. It's socialism for the rich typically.

I would hasten to add, I am really impressed with the UK NHS. They do amazing things with what they do have, despite the daily bs in the media. I am sure that will be the same for many USA medical facilities too.

Socialism for the rich is not a good at all. The rich have natural advantages, and that should be good enough.

It's that sort of topic that both the UK and the USA governments should maybe discuss. Get stuff fixed so both counties can compete in the Capitalist world once again. I am talking all levels of society, otherwise it is fake, and will lead to ruination. All levels of society need to be productive for the good of the nation.

Interesting enough, Ayn Rand's father ran a Pharmacy. It got nationalised after the revolution.

<<Rand was born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum on February 2, 1905, into a Jewish bourgeois family living in Saint Petersburg in what was then the Russian Empire. [6] She was the eldest of three daughters of Zinovy Zakharovich Rosenbaum, a pharmacist, and Anna Borisovna ( née Kaplan). [7] She was 12 when the October Revolution and the rule of the Bolsheviks under Vladimir Lenin disrupted her family's lives. Her father's pharmacy was nationalized, [8] and the family fled to Yevpatoria in Crimea, which was initially under the control of the White Army during the Russian Civil War. [9]>>
