It's the middle of January. You know, Winter. People skiing in the mountains, that sort of thing. California's fire season typically peaks in the summer, from late spring (May-June) to late fall (October-November). January has historically been a safe time to take the reservoirs offline for maintenance. Global warming is going to teach us to adapt to a warming planet whether we agree it's happening or not.
