And? Do something with that number to give it some meaning. A 12" pipe's maximum flow rate is about 4,700 GPM A 1" pipe's flow at 40 PSI is about 38 GPM 123 open 1" pipes at burned residences will consume the entire flow of a 12" main and probably result in a sucking sound when a hydrant on that main is opened.
