Humans have short memories, basically one generation. Why?. One generation may become aware of the hardships of war, but the next generation is ignorant and therefore stupid to the risks and thus susceptible to attack. History proves this. The last time for the world, was after the 1st world war, when the Europe went slowly to sleep and allowed Hitler to rearm and almost conquer the world.

The current period of slumber (post 2nd world war) is different from most others in history. Why? Nuclear weapons and mutual annihilation, which is unique to history. That deterrent will not stop intercountry wars to acquire territory and riches, which is evident by the conflicts and threats occurring today (Ukraine, Israel, many countries in Africa and the Middle east, Taiwan, Korea etc., etc.

Peace is only brought on with strength. Strong fences make good neighbors. We agree (on everything), constant vigilance and strong defensive and offensive weapons are needed, forever.

Belligerents, like muslim terrorists, must be wiped out or incarcerated, as they cannot be negotiated with, similar to the mafia wars in the recent U.S. past.

Israel has rediscovered another effective and useful tactic. Taking out the leaders can cause massive change. That is evident in the collapse of Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria.
