Glenn, I also have 0 shares of CSCO, although I had a GTC buy last Spring at $45 that almost but didn't quite hit. I would have doubled on that. However that money then went to PAIR at $16 and out at $28+, so I don't feel so bad.

I just can't warm to CSCO, as I feel they buy technology rather than develop it (a dangerous practice, IMO) and overpay too, which their stock price allows. They also don't seem to pick up best of breed companies (Stratacom instead of CSCC, Granite instead of probably several others). Their routers were king before switches started coming on strong 3 years ago. Now they are threatened.

The street loves them, but I think they are way overpriced. With a weak Q1 coming up, they are vulnerable. My main 2 horses right now are ASND and MRVC. MRVC reports earnings on Monday, so I expect to move up on Blank's chart back to the top three next week.

<<The only thing that concerns me is the incredible
amount of arrogance that Cisco has. They don't feel that anybody can beat
them in any
field that they apply themselves in.

Steven,

The above is the typical downfall of any leader in their field. This has been proven
time and time again. With that in mind, I do not have a position in Cisco.

That is dangerous as well as foolish! I have a lot of respect for Cisco but I
must ask the
Cisco people to remove their rose-colored glasses and realize that their may
be some
legitimate competition out there including COMS, BAY, CS, LU, NT, and
ASND.

Many of the above had a much later start than Cisco in the data networking field.
Cisco seems to feel they are pulling away from the competition. I feel the
competition is starting to nip that their heels.>>

not sure where this feeling of arrogance came from; if one looks at their strategy they are very much aware of competitions; listen and work very closely with customers. In each areas, target to be #1 or #2 position by either doing in-house, partnering or acquiring.
