There are then a few mega-stations at which the bullet train stops, letting off a great deal
of data. At these stations, there is some combination, perhaps, of optical and electrical
switching.

In any event, the data has to get funnelled into smaller and smaller streams, where
electrical switching takes over.


Gary,

I was making an assumption the data needed to be switched at some point. It does not think for itself and know where to go. High speed switching would seem to be the obvious answer but as you know, I am just guessing.
