BH, that would be too simple. There was an article in Barrons in January that talked about this issue. I don't remember the guy. You have inflows and mergers countered by IPO's, option exercise, outflows, etc. Anyways, I didn't read it too carefully, but he was predicting weakness in March-April.

This week's Barron's has a good article about liquidity. Comes from the perspective of stock buy backs, yet it defines some variables. This is a very complicated subject and MF inflows is just one variable. It becomes an incomprehensibly complicated subject when one tries to measure worldwide liquidity which is most relevant nowadays. Tim
