aC or Baoho do you know if OAKT is involved in DVD-RAM? Do you think that the DVD market won't "really take off" (on the order of the VCR) until record capability is commercially available at consumer prices?
I can see it now "Dual Deck DVD" (4D :-) What about replacing the Hard Drive and Jazz Drive with DVD-RAM? What are your thoughts and rhetorically speaking is OAKT's participation in DVD-RAM about as clouded as it is with its current DVD technology and marketing efforts?

Ac,

Thanks for your reply. What I really meant to ask was "what does
a movie clip look like on VCD". Given the limited amount of storage
(MPEG-1 I guess) and speed (same as CD - ROM?) as compared to DVD, I imagine it is fairly choppy.

Is there a reason why a segment of people in China (and there are many nouveau riche) are not upgrading to DVD players? No titles? This will
soon be a thing of the past.

TIA,
Joe
