Fema is typically a day late and a dollar short. better left to the governor.
No one disputes the notion that first responders are best managed locally, then at the state level.

That doesn't mean federal resources can't be used to marshal resources that wouldn't normally be available to the state.

For example, California had access to two Canadian aircraft to help fight their most recent wildfires.

You think every state governor should now open up their own lines of communication to Canada (and maybe Mexico for that matter)?

Reform FEMA? Sure.

Eliminate FEMA? Heck no.
