Respond to of 217560 Chinese lunar new year respite. Yesterday was a travel day, did do a 4-hours flight to Sapporo topped off with a 2-hours car ride to Niseko here in Hokkaido northern Japan, home of the Hokkaido milk, pudding, ice cream, … the town and everyone around seems to operate in either Mandarin or Cantonese, quite noticeably. There might be some Korean speakers about but I do not see them. Jack wants to laterally-apply his acrobatic Kung Fu and core-strength fencing and balancing water sport experiences to skiing, and as he achieved Honors with Distinction at school for the Spring 2024 semester, so okay, here we are, tagging with him and joining his friends much more practiced in the sport all scheduled to arrive today. Jack shall do the basics with a coach and hangout with his buddies afterwards lessons. I think the Mrs shall do the easier slopes with the other moms. I grew up doing cross country and only did the bunny slopes once whilst accompanying the Coconut. Am watching the Trump situation with considerable fascination, a great joy, and intend to just do some cross country and partake in hot chocolate and keep watching the macro. I am anxious to get back to HK as there is much to do as opposed to watch & think; am in the middle of moving back to abode after 13 months of renovation that started out small, ostensibly to ‘just’ reclaim the dance studio from the Coconut and ended with the gutting of the entire home as well as garden. Yes, i am glad the effort is over, my wife did all the contracting and supervision work, as well as the shopping in Shenzhen for all the material used. The savings on material was 80% on internationally-branded items. The interior work was done by mainland workers at 50% discount to HK workers, and quality good. The exterior done by local HK folks. The Coconut’s studio is now my new cave, complete with Japanese-style sit-in tub for reading on winter nights before good night’s sleep. My home office space now Jack’s geewhizbangohwhoawee room. He shall assemble his second Windows computer for intense interactions via commercial-grade optic fibre with and against his friends. Coconut still has a room at home even though we do not know how much time she will spend here in HK. We hope she will return but not holding breadth. I shall connect up with her in Europe over Spring Break whilst she works on her big project. 2025 / Year of the Snake is starting well and full of promise. We did pre-boarding snack, but no, I only imbibed in tomato juice and not by Van Winkle
