I would like to say a few words about Jot-It.. now renames Sidware(whatever)...

About One year ago a company called Farallon developed a product called "Flash Notes".. This is the same type of thing that Jot-It is creating now... The problem is the same thing that Farallon was having.. It is very unstable on the net.. WHY??

This is a pretty hard thing to explain.. but I am gonna try to explain it to everyone on this thread like I explaind it to a friend of mine who invested in this comany...

This is the URL of Farallon.. you can check out what I am saying!
collaborate.farallon.com

Why is it so unstable?

Most of you probably connect to this thing trough your ISP from home usin a dial-up account... Most of these ISP's use what is called a floating IP Address.. In english that means that everytime you connect to their server it assignes you a different IP address.. and it is right here where all the problems begin...
When You leave one of these Jot-it notes to someone on the internet it uses the IP address to post it(sorta speak).. This way only the person that is suppose to see the note will.. The problem is when they reconnect their is a different IP address assigned and this usualy causes that person to crash because the IP tables have to be rewritten for that Post-It note, that was left on a web page or something else on the network.. In a LAN (local area network) you don't have these problems because everyone hs a static IP.. However the notes program is designed for the net.. It is an Intranet system whis is basicly a seemless bridge to the net with your LAN, and IBM Lotus Development group won't include it in their Lotus Notes suit untill it is stable on the net...

This is a huge problem now that I have discovered that Farallon has now droped that project!!(This has nothing to do with Jot It)..
I wonder if Sideware will solve the problem that all the other companies are or were having!!!

From what we are learning at school.. and from what my profs are saying... It won't be for quite some time that the problem is solved despite what Jot-It is saying..

You can verify this by calling anyone of your local ISP's
