Yeah, well that's what I thought about high-tech two decades ago. Companies were supposedly seeking to expand beyond Silicon Valley.

New York City was supposed to have Silicon Alley.

Albany was supposed to have its own version of Silicon Valley, a.k.a. Cuomo Valley.

Austin and Phoenix are big tech centers of their own.

Ohio is excited to be the site of Intel's new fab, though I wonder how they're feeling now that Intel is in dire straits.

Atlanta and Orlando are trying to attract tech companies. Northern Virginia (a.k.a. the "deep blue" part of Virginia) as well.

And of course, I spent seven years in Orange County, CA, thinking that would be another big growth area for high tech.
