Brilliant. Exactly what Saddam wanted. Not only does he save face and avoids having to back down in the face of US/UK air strikes, but in essence he gets to proclaim to the world that he was looking for a diplomatic solution all along, but that the US was only interested in brute force and impossible to negotiate with.

Well, we don't know the details of the 'agreement' yet. Like we said, if it doesn't meet with our requirements, down go the bombs. I don't think we will, nor should we, allow Saddam to get away with making us look like idiots in a smoke and mirrors diplomacy game. Convert the palaces into parking lots, I say.
