LOL! I just realized that since you were responding to Gary's post from the 13th, you've been digging through 1000s of messages for posts that I've written for 9 days now! Wow! Such devotion...I didn't know you cared, Idaho. :o)

Oh, and this comment on 10/23/97...:

"I'm confident that I would make a far greater return over the next 3 months by selling CSCO shares for an incredible 2 year return around 80, and picking up ASND around 35 for a ride back to 50 in a few months, before I sell it too. This is why I have been accumulating so many shares in ASND over the past month. Return potential."

...is an explanation in response to someone asking why I would sell my CSCO after 2 years to buy more ASND, rather than a prediction of future events. Can you understand the distinction, Idaho? Let's put that in layman's terms for you: statement -- YES, prophecy -- NO. Comprende?

Would you like a prediction? Here you go!:

12/17/97 -- Message 2993706

"Definately. Do your portfolio a favor and get in through the basement door. Many people didn't get that opportunity, but those that take advantage of it are looking at 2x CSCO's potential returns in half the time, going into 1998."

Now that we are in 1998, what are the stats?

1998 YTD % returns as of Fri. 2/20/98

ASND +44.9%
CSCO +18%

That was an excerpt of a post to Gary late last year. Interestingly enough, Gary was wise enough to recognize value when he saw it and took a position in ASND, and therefore capitalized on those fantastic gains thus far into 1998, as well as enjoying CSCO's returns. You sound like the fox and the sour grapes, having missed out on ASND's fierce rally -- and that's just too bad! You suspected I would be right about ASND outperforming CSCO going into 1998 (that's why you never contested my statements on the topic), you just lacked the spine to make the move. Well no wealth to the timid! But then being a sore loser does become you, Idaho...you whine like a mule.

>>>So much for his predictions about return potential. I had refrained from bringing this up during the past month but I felt a little reality was in order concerning his continuing attribution to himself as some kind of investment oracle.<<<

Style Pts -- Investment Oracle Extraordinaire...I like the sound of that!! ;o)

SNAP! 'Nuff said.

Style Pts.

Duncan,

Well Style does have a tendency to stick his neck out now and then doesn't he. Guess he's wrong on that prediction. I'll tell you what though.... given where the two securities were back then I probably would have made the same prediction (glad I didn't). I've always been longer on Cisco since over the long term I believe Cisco is a stronger more broadly positioned organization than any other networker, including ASND. You gotta believe that ASND has some upside though. What do you think?
