Dennis - The Purebright system uses intense pulses of light to kill pathogens. I suspect it would only be successful on products whose surfaces could easily be exposed to the light, such as round fruits. Products which have folds or cavities, such as poultry or many kinds of produce, would be difficult if not impossible to adequately expose. However, Maxwell did sell a unit to Japan for evaluation in use on sides of beef: maxwell.com

It seems most of their systems are used for water purification. I expect there will be a niche for them to fill, but I don't think they could seriously compete with the uses and flexibility of ozone.
