>>What is the amount/point of throughput that quantifies the "commercial production" category? 300oz per yr? More? Less?<<

In terms of commercial production, it is considered based on the actual production cost. In small quantities one group has an actual production cost of ~$60.00 an ounce, with two ounce per day production six days a week.

Another group has produced in excess of 80 ounces in one day at a cost of ~$38.00 an ounce.

Hope this helps....

Another note:

If a laboratory produces 2.5 milligrams of gold through a low energy nuclear exchange on a thirty gram sample they would report 2.5 ounces per ton of precious metals from the results. Is there 2.5 ounce per ton of precious metals in the ore? Or, did someone create the 2.5 milligrams in the laboratory?

7000 tonnes of gold is right now being offered for sale, "all at once" and this offer is listed on the net!?!?

49er, Came across the following link on Kitco:

tradenet.org

Click "currencies and precious metals" above the upper scroll bar. The lower section shows 7000 MT for sale. Scroll down below that for the details of the proposed offer.

1. The sale is "all at once"

2. For 7000 Metric Tonnes (almost a quarter of CB gold reserves?)

3. Unlike the other listed offers, the the seller is "unkown"

4. The transaction is described as "sanitized" and through a Swiss bank.

5. Also interesting is the phrase "under penalty of perjury"

Would appreciate your comments, as well as the comments of any one else.
