Keep it coming! :)

However, I totally disagree with Intel's guidance. At the rate technology is advancing and considering the expense currently of designing and then mass producing these chips, I seriously doubt that Marced will be confined to the high end market. I'd almost be willing to bet 100 shares of CPQ that CPQ will come out with a sub-5K Merced computer within a month of its release. If this is what you call the high end well we have a differing view (personally, I am imagining 20K+ as high end).

While I guess that its possible that Intel could pull a rabbit out of its hat, the fact that alot of technology is sold on the buzz it creates. The Alpha chip is a great example. The buzz never really developed and the chip has been relegated to a niche rather than the mainstream. (Hopefully, CPQ can change this.) I'm not a diehard Intel follower so I'm not as in the loop as many but I certainly haven't heard much about the post Pentium generation of chips if Merced is not it. Pentium II is an incremental step not the jump that we've come to expect form Intel. (But enough of Intel - sorry for my digression from the thread subject.!)
