what i am saying in ira is NOT earned income but gets reported on your 1040 as income and taxed as ordinary income.
several years ago I believe the obama adm added a charge to your cost of medicare based on total 1040 income including in that amount is IRA withdrawals and reported as income on the 1040. that was never the case up until a few years ago.?

i assume roth is not included in the additional charge as your Roth is not reported in 1040?
