We had four years of a "woke" FAA that was supposedly focused on DEI.

And we had no major commercial aviation fukk-ups during that period. The worst was when Southwest Airlines screwed up in late 2022, but that was Southwest's fault, not the FAA.

Now, just a week into the Trump 2.0 regime, we have nothing but chaos in the federal government. From the FAA director forced to resign by Musk, to the threats of federal employees getting laid off, I have no doubt that the Orange Wrecking Ball harmed employee morale.

Did that lead to the tragic collision that happened last night? Probably not, but I think it's a better explanation than blaming it on DEI.

Unless, of course, someone can prove to me that the air traffic controllers working at Reagan at the time, or their boss, or their boss' boss, were DEI hires that were promoted beyond their merit.
