Bill,

I was just watching the Discovery channel and they were profiling the F-117 program. Maybe the C7 is in IDTI's skunk works program and that it is a top secret. The engineers have to be so tight lipped about it that they can't even discuss it with their spouses. Hell, it may be so secret that Len doesn't even know about it!

I even bet that the C7, if it exists, is so stealthy that Intel won't even see it coming!!!!! Now that would be cooooool.

Maybe there is a C7 "under" development. The C6+ is supposed to come out this summer. If IDT is serious about targeting a share of the Intel pie, their development pipeline would not stop in six months. It's always bigger, better, faster, more -- even for the targeted sub-$1k market.

They are sinking a lot of dough in a state of the art 0.25u(or lower?), 8 inch wafer fab. You don't need that kind of resolution to make SRAM's or FIFO's. Why not push your current leading-edge CPU architecture out so that your $$$ fab is fully utilized?

Maybe the C7 will have the "common" (AMD/Cyrix/IDT) 3D video engine that will compete head-to-head with Intel?
