Interesting tidbit from SBN:

Telecom 'keeps on truckin'

The U.S. market for telecom equipment and software will keep growing this year at the same rate that it did in '97. That's the word from the Telecommunications Industry Assn., which predicts this business will grow at 13% this year to hit $120.4B, up from $106.4B last year. Next year, growth will slow slightly to 9.4%, but then resume its double-digit pace in 2000, Jack Robertson writes in EBN. Frame relay, ATM, and switched multimegabit data service will grow the fastest, moving up 38% this year to $5.3B. The TIA also reported that U.S. exports of telecom gear last year jumped 23.5% to $21 billion, giving the nation a positive trade balance of $6.1 billion, nearly double that of '96.

William --

That's the way it's supposed to work and I'm glad to hear it does. I have to admit a little envy, too. :)

BTW, I phoned NN and was told only analysts could listen to the cc, even the replay. The man I spoke with said he'd leave a number on my home answer machine if he could get an okay. Since I'll be enroute home late today, could you email a playback number just in case he didn't leave one? I'd really like to hear the call.

NN presents here at the BARS conference on Thursday. I may come back up just for the day as there are several others I'd like to hear, too. Unfortunately, today's the most uneventful of the week.

Thanks in advance.

Pat
