I believe in the Trimble "story" and the future of GPS, and someday this stock will make somebody a lot of money, but this company has had more than its share of negative surprises recently. In the third quarter they disappointed because the CUGR products didn't ship, and in the fourth quarter they disappointed because the CUGR products did ship. Now we're getting warnings about a disappointment in the first quarter? I'm still long, but I'm losing my conviction. When are we going to get some numbers that beat the estimates?

The annual sales meeting was mentioned during the last conference call. Trimble said that the meeting is traditionally held during the first quarter and that last year it was delayed to save expenses. This year things look better, and so Trimble has resumed holding the meeting at the traditional time. This is a good sign, not a bad one.
