<<The big elephant in the room is your estimate of your own intelligence.>>

Oh I see !!

I gettit....

To be able to talk about the economy, probably the most important thing in anyones life, is you have to be an ever so clever person, properly edjumakated, to be able to even talk about it?

Is that right??

Actually I think that is the problem... not the solution. People are misinformed on financial matters. Deliberately so.

If that was NOT the case, kids would be taught what money actually is in school. Primary school preferably.

You should never be frightened of being wrong in a debate.

or for "not being educated".

Ignore Eric, for example. Sometimes he is right, other times he is FOS, just like anyone else.

People who are wrong yet unafraid to express their thoughts contribute much to understanding: Scientists whose theories are proven wrong, or whose experiments "fail" often contribute the most to real scientific understanding and advancement.

Sure you have to expect a bit of ribbing for barking up the wrong tree, but aside from that, where is the harm?

True harm comes from lies that are enforced.

Maybe focus on the message rather then the messenger.

Consider what is at stake.

I believe this house is built of sandstone.

Where I live, the older houses are built of granite. Sandstone should have lasted much better then that though. Should have lasted at least a couple of hundred years. That was not a cheap house to build, not an "economic" build at all.
