The carbon is taken out of the air by photosynthesis, cows eat the grass. We eat the cows and drink the milk, but not before the cows have farted a lot. Carbon retuned to the air in the form of CO2 and Methane. it's a closed loop, but other activities (like burning coal) contribute to increased CO2 in the air. Meanwhile(1) the Chinese have built a railway to move over 200million tonnes of coal each year, building another 50 coal power stations per year, and we wonder why everyone is losing their jobs and the standard of living is being lowered. Meanwhile(2) we get to see ever bigger jets landing at Davos each year. Meanwhile (3) the plan is we have to eat bugs and chemical chit to get by. it's a "wtf?" moment for many.
