Bill, from PBS:

Trump agrees to pause tariffs on Mexico, but import taxes still in place for Canada and China (WHYY PBS)

Sheinbaum pledged to help stop the trafficking of fentanyl into the U.S., but she also claimed that the U.S. will help stop the trafficking of weaponry from the U.S.

Personally I think these are nothing but platitudes, and that the trafficking cannot truly be stopped.

Fentanyl trafficking is especially hard to stop, given that the volumes of chemicals involved are small and can easily be hidden in pretty much anything.

And trying to stop the flow of arms is very difficult, as the so-called "blue states" discovered when they continually clamp down on the 2nd amendment.

But hey, it seems platitudes are all that it takes to appease Trump and reverse the tariffs. If it works for now, great, but who knows if the mercurial Trump will change his mind once again?
