Hi Clint,

>>Techie took some notes but I need to ask her if she wants to share
>>parts of her notes here. As you said, CIEN is SPCT-ized.

If you talking about the conference call, I have heard it.
This company has some serious challenges ahead of it.
It sounds like WCOM has enough capacity built out for the
time being. It looks like the problem is only in the US.
As a result it may be putting its build out on hold till the
MCI deal is finalized. It look like CIEN needs a sizable RBOC
contract for it to meet the projections for the year. CIEN
has a lot riding on getting the AT&T contract. Management has
confirmed that none of the CLEC's can make up for the WCOM
revenue. Funny, I never have heard an analyst want to punch
an executive in then nose before. It was a humorous off the cuff
comment ,but it was candid and to the point. It looks like WCOM
is not that open with the analysts.

If Techie has other notes, it might be better to just EMAIL them to
me. My EMAIL is in my profile.

Hum .... interesting, it might be worth looking at companies
that manufacute SONET multiplexing equipment that will run
at that bit rate.

I will try to check in on Tuesday after NN's earnings. I don't
expect anything provocative from Greenspan so that first half
of the week should be flat. . Have a good week.
