Over on the Yahoo thread, a lot of rumors being spread.

A Mr. Pink esq, who was bad mouthing the stock for months, has all of a sudden changed his tune, because he talked to his sister, who works for Morgan Stanley and says that they"have been working feverisly on a recommendation", but according to office rules he wasn't able to find out the recommendation, but he says it is suppost to come out this week! I think its bullshit.

Another rumor says that Dean whitter, Driefus fund, and two other funds have huge buy orders in this week. This was from another person.

The only solid information, which was posted by the same person, gave a list of 15 funds that owned positions. Smith Barney was listed, along with the Driefus fund, Dean whitter was listed, along with CALPERS, and a few others I don't remember. 3-4 added to their positions, 2-3 sold positions, including Jeff Vinik, from the big fund. It sounded solid, but I told him to post the source of info.

Who knows now day, there are so many rumors floating. I'm going to start my own rumor. Warren Buffet has sold have of his Silver holdings, to buy a 10% stake in Actrade! :)

Without regard to the merits of ACRT or any other business, I must take issue with your contention that ".042% taken to the 52nd power is 24% for the year". What a bunch of crap!!

One cent to the 52nd power is essentially zero. .00042 being less than one, it gets SMALLER with each multiplication, not larger as you state.

If you want to take a specific amount of PROFIT, on the other hand, say a measly $2 and raise it to the 52nd power, you're talking some serious money....probably in the high billions or trillions.

Finance is usually simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Don't get out of your area or you will look like an idiot whether you are one or not.

I'll have a try at this and take the risk that I "will look like an idiot" since finance is not my "area".

.042% gain compounded 52 times is calculated by raising 1.00042 to the 52nd power = 1.022 which results in a 2.2% compounded gain.

1.0042 to the 52nd gives 1.24 or 24% gain. I suspect Mr. P was right in his algorithm, just a slip of the decimal on the .042%.

Mr. Docsox Mr. Pink corrects your math.

Sir don't call Mr. pink and idiot. how can exponentiating a positive return result in smaller amounts? You must add 1 to the .042%....

For example in order to compute a 10% return compounded for 3 years you take 1.1% to the 3rd power i.e 1.1X1.1x1.1=1.331.

Your hasty condemnation of Mr. Pink on something about you know so little (basic math) is instructive about other attacks on Mr. pink when He is simply spreading the truth.

Best wishes and please be less rude when someone is trying to help.

Mr. Pink
