The Muslim Council of Britain does not have the interests of Palestinians as a priority. Its focus is and has always been on boosting Islamic supremacy in Britain and globally. In 2019, Muslim Council of Britain launched the Center for Media Monitoring in order to silence criticism of Islam. Its intent was really to ensure that the media presents Islam as a religion of peace, in complete contradiction to all facts about the abusive, oppressive and supremacist Sharia. Currently, the Muslim Council of Britain is in the news again for welcoming the ruling Labor Party’s creation of a council on “Islamophobia,” and is now pressing the the All-Party Parliamentary Group to establish a definition of “Islamophobia.” Within three days of the Hamas savagery of October 7, 2023, the Muslim Council of Britain published its booklet “ Guidance on Palestine.” This booklet did not condemn Hamas, but highlighted Israel’s “occupation,” while it encouraged support for “Palestine.” It subsequently accused Israel of “ genocide” as the Jewish state defended itself, and supported ICC warrants for Israel’s alleged “crimes against humanity.” “Muslim Council of Britain condemns Trump’s Gaza plan, calls for urgent global action,” Türkiye Today, February 5, 2025: The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has called for “urgent international action” to rebuild Gaza and halt the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. In a statement, the MCB emphasized that the destruction caused by Israel in Gaza requires an international effort on a scale similar to the post-World War II reconstruction of cities like Berlin and Tokyo. Key points from statement The MCB stressed that the rebuilding of Gaza must involve restoring communities and preserving cultural heritage, much like the reconstruction of Berlin and Tokyo after World War II. The statement also highlighted that such efforts can be successful without forcibly displacing the local population. The MCB strongly condemned any proposals that suggest relocating Palestinians, either temporarily or permanently, as part of Gaza’s reconstruction. The council argued that these proposals amount to “ethnic cleansing” and violate international law. The group expressed concern that U.S. President Donald Trump is currently the only prominent figure advocating for Gaza’s reconstruction. The incident happened at around 3pm local time, 2pm British time, on Saturday – with local reports suggesting the victim was in the street in the city of Utrecht, about 30 miles from the capital Amsterdam, when she was stabbed. Emergency services were called to the scene but were unable to save her life, police have said. A 29-year-old man has been arrested, and ANP news agency reported that police confirmed the suspect was originally from Syria. The agency said that police are investigating reports that the suspect had been acting ‘confused’ in the week prior to the attack. They did not indicate any motivation for the attack….

The War on Woke: Professor Amy Wax vs. the University of Pennsylvania Feb 5, 2025 10:00 am By Hugh Fitzgerald 1 Comment Amy Wax is a professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania who has been a victim of a monstrous regiment of wokesters at her institution. They have been outraged at her remarks in class and in her postings on social media. She is not taking their brickbats— some might call it persecution— lying down, and is now suing the university in federal court for not protecting her First Amendment rights, and for engaging in racial discrimination. More on the background to her lawsuit can be found here: “EXCLUSIVE: Sanctioned Penn Professor Amy Wax Says ‘Possibility’ Trump Will Join Her Fight Against University That Punished Her for ‘Offensive’ Speech,” by A.R. Hoffman, New York Sun, January 24, 2025: Professor Amy Wax, in an interview with the [New York] Sun, discloses that “the possibility has been brought up” that the Trump administration could join her federal civil lawsuit against the University of Pennsylvania for violating “core principles of the First Amendment” and enforcing policies that are “racially discriminatory.”… Her complaint alleges that at Penn, “Speakers, like Professor Wax, who are White and/or Jewish are far more likely to be disciplined for offending speech than speakers who are racial minorities (other than Jews).” Dr. Wax argues that this disparate treatment violates, among other statutes, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. That law prohibits racial discrimination by all institutions that receive federal funding. The university’s annual financial report discloses that Penn received $15.8 billion in federal funds in 2024, though the total could well be higher. Typically at elite private universities, federal grant money is the second-largest source of income after tuition, and is essential to their operations as major research institutions. I find it difficult to believe that the tuition money that the University of Pennsylvania takes in every year is greater than the $15.8 billion that it receives in federal funds. If Dr. Wax succeeds, her case could be a template. Washington is undoubtedly watching. The professor, though, adds a word of warning — she reckons that “we have not yet reached peak woke. The universities, especially, are resistant” to any reckoning with their dominant ideology. This will be a trial to watch. Think of the Scopes trial. Or of Captain Dreyfus and his court martial. One hopes that the Department of Justice, now under new management, will take a sympathetic interest in Professor Wax’s travails, and participate actively in pressing her case against those who have been attempting to make her life hell. And put UPenn on notice that the Trump administration is looking very carefully at the question of whether UPenn has by its discriminatory behavior violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and, as a consequence, forfeited the right to receive federal funding.
