Jay: I am a long fan on AVEI, I was scared to buy at 32 and even more scared to buy at 37 after watching this a little over a year ago when it was flirting with the mid-teens. I have for the record unloaded 1/3 of my initial investment at 57 and the second third at 74 hoping to buy back some of the latter in the low 60's but it never happened. I think it is a little ahead of itself though I think it will show great quarter over quarter gains for '98. Unless they have some unique product or steal the market, '99 will level off and I will definitely worry about a lofty valuation. I intend to hold my last third, add if it corrects by natural causes and basically see how sales continue to go and what impact it has on the competition ala GDT and JNJ. I'm not sure what to make of the 144 news, if they were heavy sellers in the fall, guess the stock didn't read the same book. Is it not true they do not necessarily have to sell, just register an intent to sell and this is predicated on guidelines and time constraints placed on all insiders by then SEC? I hope to reference some information from a poster that sought me out via e-mail, he is a cath tech but doesn't belong to SI and he has some invaluable insight into the world of interventional cardiology/radiology.
