Miss Lil <<Don't you think it's a little more than coincidental that several articles have come out (Newsweek, Ladies' Home Journal, Reader's Digest, even Barron's) all with the same spin, namely that oral medications are now coming and implying that all other treatments are ineffective or painful? And just happening to mention Viagra (with a side mention of other medications that will not be available for the foreseeable future). Doesn't it strike you as interesting that these articles all coincide with the reported submission of Viagra for NDA approval to the FDA? And that the pace has increased prior to the expected approval and release of this drug? I guarantee, this is not a coincidence. >>

Miss Lil: There is a reason why the Reader's Digest article has "the same spin". As with all Reader's Digest "News From the World of Medicine" articles, it is derived from an already published piece. As noted in "Impotence Update", this article was originally written by Lauran Neergaard from the AP in October, 1997.

Miss Lil, It is only natural for all media to accentuate the oral pill. As a urologist of thirty years experience I can tell you that the male population of this country have been waiting breathlessly for this product. Do not deceive yourself into thinking that anyone will talk a patient out of trying viagra first with subjective ideas like "it really isn't so bad" or "you will feel a little irritation". Why bother? I'll try the oral first and if it doesn't work then we'll talk about my options. That's how it's going to be. The good news is that Muse works in a goodly number of those patients. Viagra will open up the market but you can depend on a slowing of domestic sales temporarily. Hopefully the increase in Foreign markets will continue the increase in sales. Ed
