None of the circuit designers I know ever bought a state of the art stepper either. And most of my friends in technology development haven't bought a state of the art stepper either. By the way - you don't have to buy a state of the art stepper or stepper/scanner just to use one. Some companies even buy them for the use of their engineers and employees. I guess at AMD engineers have to provide their own equipment. Well, money is tight at AMD and if push comes to shove - a new Mercedes Limousine and company paid chauffeur for Jerry Sanders takes precedent over purchasing new wafer steppers. Paul
