Sure, trials can be halted immediately. Usually when it is determined that something deadly is going on and trial subjects are dying. I ca think of a couple over the decades. Otherwise, they are wound down over a period of time.

You just can't help making shit up, can you? Is it pathological?

You're missing the point by fussing at one of my examples.

The US government has consciously and conspicuously renounced its trust and good faith, has relinquished its integrity and reliability. Once gone, that is gone. There's no do-over or make up.

For what? The short-term, visceral gratification of animal spirits? Yeah, go pound your chest over your Phyrric victory in having thrown out the baby with the bathwater.
