OK. If you want to understand the semiconductor industry at a high macro level I recommend the book Chip Wars. amazon.com Learning about all the different segments of the semiconductor industry (NAND, DRAM, logic, consumer, analog, equipment, design software, all of it) takes quite a while. Fortunately the US dominates chip design, so if you learn about all the major US semi stocks, you'll down the road have a pretty good understanding of the various segments, but it wil take years, not weeks or months.
