pay close attention to the trade history right before last split
(7/01/97 - 7/25/97).

It should give you a hint whether it is good time to get in now.

I *think* that DELL will move up from now till the split, though probably not quite as dramatically as last week. What happens post split, I don't know, won't guess. I'm hoping for a dip (read buying op) but I have lost a lot of money waiting for DELL to come down before. JMHO,
