Not one but four planes were hijacked by the terrorists for 9/11 attacks. The US was very different then, airport security was drastically increased following the attacks, not leading up to them. You can know something is coming but do nothing, exactly what happened. Unless you know exact plans f the terrorists, which I am sure nobody knew but the terrorists. After the security was drastically increased there were no more attacks, or were there?

The attack using flight UA 93 heading to Washington DC to hit the Capitol and the White House failed due to heroism of Americans on that flight.
